Immaculate Conception Church During the 17th and 18th century, Catholics in Newfoundland were prohibitied from practicing their religion. In the late 1700s, the law was changed and around 1852, the first stones were layed for a new chapel. Though the building was destroyed by fire in 1889. A new building was erected, and in 1899, it was consecrated. Open year-round. Address: Route 70 Harbour Grace NL Canada
