In the early 1900s remains left by three ancient aboriginal cultures were found here. There are exhibits on the burial rituals and lifestyles of the Dorset and Groswater Eskimo and the Maritime Archaic Indians. Excavation is still underway.
The artifacts on exhibit at this centre include tools, fishing equipment, furniture, photos and documents and focus on the history of Port au Choix and the Igornachoix region. A gift shop is located onsite and offers local crafts, including knitting, painting and quilts. Open during the summer months, this facility has guided tours available.
