This park was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. More than just hiking, this park is ideal for camping, snowshoeing, natural study, and photography. There are so many year-round activities here. Boat touring allows for an excellent view of fjords and other geological wonders. Gros Morne is a jewel that has largely been protected and has remained a closely guarded secret.
This 6 km walking trail leads to the Western Brook Pond, which features a boat launch. Boat tours are available at this location.
This trail leads to the top of Gros Morne Mountain, one of the highest peaks in Newfoundland. The trail extends 16 km and can be a very strenuous hike. Some wildlife that may be spotted include Woodland Caribou and Arctic Hare. Hikers are asked to wait until the beginning of July before climbing to the top to protect wildlife in the area.
