Harbour Grace Heritage District
One of the "Ten Historic Towns" featured in the book of the same name by the Newfoundland Historic Trust, the town of Harbour Grace has many excellent heritage structures including the Ridley Offices, St. Paul's Anglican Church, the Old Court House, Hampshire Cottage and the Customs House, reflecting the proud heritage and place the community holds in the province's history.

This village features gift shops, restaurants, dinner theatre and a visitor reception centre. Historic buildings line the streets of this village, named for a prominent sealing family from the mid-to-late 19th century. Routes 320 and 330 off the Trans-Canada Highway both lead to the village.

Water Street
This famed area, one of the oldest commercial streets in North America, features trendy restaurants offering various types of cuisine including seafood, Asian and Indian, as well as pubs and tearooms. Several accommodations, as well as shops are also located here.

The Battery
This neighborhood was once an old fishing village and is now home to a few different types of hotels and bed and breakfast places, including The Battery Hotel and Conference Centre.

This area has architecture of the 1880s. A map and brochure are available which enables you to take a self-guided walking tour. Some of the stores have had a facade added to their fronts to enhance the atmosphere and to make them appear more in keeping with the theme of the area.

George Street
This area is a highlight of St. John's night life, featuring cobblestoned streets lined with pubs including English and Irish, dance and live music clubs and Mile One Stadium. A variety of music can be heard including country, rock and traditional Newfoundland style.
