Founded in 1959, the Smokey Mountain Ski Club features a fairly even distribution of beginner, intermediate and advanced runs for skiing and snowboarding over approximately 32 ha (80 acres). Lessons for both skiing and snowboarding are available.

Sugarloaf Hill is a fully functional ski hill with two J-Bars, and a Rope Tow boasting 5 runs and 2 main slopes. Highest Elevation is 660ft and difficulty ranges from beginner to expert. Full rentals, public washrooms and canteen services are available.

This area offers 5 km of cross-country skiing trails, one lighted night trail and a day lodge. The club charges a trail fee but no equipment rentals are available. Winter competition western races take place at the club every January.
